Comments by a friend: In 1996 Dr.Lam was elected as an ASME Fellow. He is also the recipient of numerous outstanding teacher awards. His research interests include structural dynamics, fatigue and fracture evaluation of material behavior, pre-engineering and minority engineering retention issues. He received his BS degree in 1969 at Purdue University, MS degree in 1970 at the University of Illinois and PhD at the University of Akron in 1978.
