GRADES K-6 (elementary),
GRADES 7-12 (secondary)

DESCRIPTION: Engaging and funny, this One-Act Play is written by award-winning playwright, Duncan Othen. Fully staged and scripted with a cast of four. Complete list of props, sound effects and costuming available upon request. Topics deal with history of Wright Brothers, the invention process, and bullying.

TEACHING IDEAS: This play may be used as literature in the classroom and has a companion teacher's resource book available (below) with dozens of black-line masters with complete standards-based lessons and activities.

May also be performed as a stage play for drama groups, youth groups, or school fundraising activities.

DESCRIPTION: Play for K-6 has adjusted vocabulary, simplified plot line, and the inclusion of a small narrator part for students with learning differences. Topics deal with history of Wright Brothers, and the invention process while encouraging positive character traits like persistence and teamwork. Students will love the plot twist of "time travel"!

TEACHING IDEAS: This play will work excellently as a Reader's Theater style literature unit. Works well in small group as well as whole class.
