WHAT?

"The Six Summits Project": He will circumnavigate the Earth only on human power and climb the highest peak on each of 6 continents. ("Circumnavigate" means to go all the way around.)

WHERE?

He has finished Stage 1 of the project. He is currently working on "Stage 2: The Pacific Crossing". He started this portion from Bodega Bay, California and is traveling to Australia.

WHEN?

He left for Stage 2: The Pacific Crossing on July 10, 2007 and will arrive in Australia approximately in March 2008.

  • To inspire children to follow their dreams
  • To involve children in the educational process
  • To raise awareness of environmental issues
  • In memory of his fallen friend, Göran Kropp

HOW?

Erden walks, climbs, rides a bike, and rows a boat. He is currently using a $40,000 rowboat that is specially designed for ocean rowing.
